Qualifications

I started my family law practice in Seattle in 1972. I began doing mediations as part of my practice in 1979, at a time when there were only a handful of us in the Seattle area even considering the possibility of mediation in family law. The mediation side of my practice evolved to the point where over the last 10 years, I have limited my family law practice exclusively to doing mediations and arbitrations.

Because of my long commitment to the mediation process, in 1998 I was honored by the Family Law Section of the Washington State Bar Association as their Attorney of the Year. In 1994-1995 I functioned as co-chair of the Guardian ad Litem Section for the King County Bar Association. I have written and spoken on a variety of family law and mediation topics.
